The top 5 rows are sewn together and the bottom 3 rows are hanging there by the webbing threads. This should finish around 60" x 72". I was just too tired to finish sewing those last 3 seams.
I gave away 21 masks yesterday and I had a request for some more masks for the workers at our local family owned grocery store which is 7 blocks from my house. Some of these masks are identical to each other but I have flipped one of them over to show the other side for variety. I have made all of mine with different fabrics on each side. If the wearer takes off the mask for awhile (like for lunch) they know which side to put back next to their face and don't put the germy side there by mistake. I have cut my last package of elastic into pieces so I'm really close to the end of making these.
I saw something interesting on the internet: There are a lot less selfies showing up on social media with the hairdressers all closed. I know I'm looking a little shaggy and I'm sure a lot of others are too.
Love your selfies on social media note! Had a good laugh! Husband has asked for a trim, but I like his hair a bit longer, so delaying cut as long as possible!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea on the masks' sides being different...
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is almost there;))) ~ ~ ~ waving in the rain Julierose
Ha ha.... I gave myself a haircut. Since I used to cut hair, years ago, it still looks pretty good. There are things I can't do to it myself so I went for a simple cut.
ReplyDeleteyes lot less selfies going on - I bet there are a lot with bad hair right now - mine isn't too bad right now and I will chop some off when it needs it - seeing as I have layers it isn't that hard to do won't be the best hair cut but if you go with a "choppy" look it won't be bad - and should I grow the hair dye out or put hair dye on my Wal-Mart order lol - might be a good time to try growing it out again
ReplyDeleteI chopped hubbys hair and the top of mine to get it out of my eyes.i too was a hairdresser and used to cut my own using mirrors. Yikes lol your quilt is beautiful. We are all starting to see what really matters in life with this pandemic. Out of bad things come good things.selfies with coiffed hair is so yesterday ha ha
ReplyDeleteI was lucky that I got my hair cut at the first of March and she cut it a bit short. I had an appointment this Saturday so that will be the start of my eventual hair problems! LOL!!! Definitely will be wearing a hat in a couple weeks if I go outside to cover the roots. I called WBC Industries yesterday to see if they had any 1/4" elastic and of course they were sold out. They have a replacement shipment coming in next week. I hope I get my new credit card by then since I may end up switching from ties to elastic for the masks.
ReplyDeleteThat quilt top is looking good.
Every time I see your 9 patch it just pulls me right in. I enjoy studying blocks and your fabric combinations.
ReplyDeleteYour dedication making masks and your giving of them has been a blessing for all those 100 ++++++ people. You are one of the Angels they talk about here on earth.

I hadn't noticed the reduction in selfies but now that you mention it! 🤣I got mine cute the week before lock down and was annoyed that she cut it too short. I gave her a generous tip anyway because I thought she might be out of work soon. I'm glad I did because she did me a big favor!
