Blocks on the design wall...........

l put the 63 blocks up on the design wall and changed a few several times.  I think this is the final layout.  It will only change if I make a mistake while piecing it.

One third of each square ends up in seam allowance on the back, lots and lots of seams............

  1. WOW! I love it but glad I'm not the one matching all those seams.

  2. This is just WOW! Matching all those seems would take lots of patience and pins. I just love it!

  3. It turns out to be a heavy quilt with all those seams and all that thread.
I am glad you included drab colors--I recommend that to avoid the "easter egg" look.
I am so honored you made this quilt!

  6. Oh, it's fantastic! That's going to be quite a heavy quilt. You could sell it as a weighted blanket. 😁

  8. It's just beautiful. I am inspired to make one but all those seams are giving me pause.

  9. What a spectacular array of tiny squares -- you did a great job of choosing your solids and laying out the blocks. (I made one block as a test and it is now a mat that sits under one of DH's woodturnings). I like Vicki's comment about it acting like a weighted blanket.

  11. WOW - I love how it sparkles! I can't imaging how heavy this quilt will be to wrangle, with one third of the fabric in the seam allowances. Good luck with all those matching seams, but with your system for nesting them, I'm sure they'll go together well for you.

  14. WOW, it looks fantastic. Because of all the seams it will be a chore to quilt. But lovely to look at.

  16. Amazing to see the back of those blocks. I never stopped to consider how many seams and how much bulk that is. A wonderful quilt though.

  18. That is quite a quilt! I just love it. I’m actually not a quilter, only a piecer, I send all my quilts out for machine quilting. But I can imagine that this will be a beast to quilt. I wish you all the best and very much look forward to see it finished!

  20. Wow Wanda, it seems like your hard work is paying off at its best! If I'm going to make that wall, it indeed would look "Exuberant" thanks to your awesome inputs! These decoratives will sure radiate the energy that was put into its making. Cheers, and while being awesome, do share photographic angles after finishing it all, looking forward to it.
