Ditch quilting.........

I didn't do any quilting on the African quilt for 3 days so I spent more time with it yesterday.

All of the extra lighting on this machine really helps to stay in the ditch.  This post shows the lighting I added to it.

I also looked for some large pieces of flannel to sew together for a backing for the flannel quilt top I finished last week.  I found 5 pieces that I think will work so it will take a little calculating to see how to sew it together.

  2. You should be able to see really well with the lighting set up you have. Remember how I can't get the bulb back in my machine? Well, I finally got my Ott light and set it up behind my machine. With that and the little LED light that is adhered to the head of the machine, I can see pretty good. I need to try again to see if I can get that bulb in.

    1. Good idea. I need an extra light and the Ott light sounds perfect.

  3. I so agree, with as much light as possible when sewing on machine or by hand. The older we get ~ more lighting is needed.

  4. What are your options of stitch in the ditch? It is not something that I have ever done. Do you do it a lot on your quilts? I'm just curious about this method.
