#3 finish for November...........

I finished hand stitching the binding on this floral colorwash around 10 p.m. last night.  It is about 31.25" square.

The backing is a home decorator fabric and was tough to hand stitch through.  After 3 hand stitched bindings my hands are aching.  I have one more to do but maybe it will be a couple days before I do the hand sewing.

There is a partial frog in the beige/brown section.

Snow today......Predictions are from 2" - 6" with 4" being their best guess.

  2. Another beautiful finish! Yes, it would be good to changed activities to give the hand stitching muscles a rest.

  4. The frog is so fun! These florals are very beautiful and smooth in their transitions. I can appreciate this even more as I learn and try to do this myself. I’ve enjoyed all your recent colorwash finishes!

  5. Another stunning Colorwash, backing is perfect and thanks for the close up of mr. frog. (^._.^) You Wanda are THE top Colorwash expert in the quilt world. I'm sure all those in your Colorwash courses has benefitted greatly with your guidance as they design their own.

I can understand why your hands need a break after all the hand stitching and yard clean up as well.

  8. Feel like temp headed from the 60s earlier today to 5 degrees by morning. Good grief! And there is an outside chance we could have a dusting of snow to go with the cold. CRAZY weather.

  9. But it is beautiful!!! And the tough fabric is so perfect for the backing. Love the little treats hidden in it.
It is cold here tonight, too and supposed to be colder still tomorrow.
    Stay warm, sweet friend!

  10. Another beauty! I love that backing with it too. I can imagine it was a pistol to hand stitch it though.

Happy January! Your weather has been insane this fall.
