In one of the piles I went through yesterday I found this project started too many years ago to remember. I love the look of the quilt (click on photo for a closer look) and I have all of 2 blocks made. There are more photocopied patterns so there really is no excuse.
This is the magazine that it was in and even though it is from 2006 I didn't start this that long ago. The odds of continuing this project into anything large is 0. Maybe I'll do enough pieces for a table runner....maybe not.
I, too, have been going through years of crafting odds and ends. I’m trying to be ruthless in my clearing out but everything ‘just might be needed for my latest project!’ Very hard!!🤣🤣. Hope you’re having a great weeken£. Joan
ReplyDeleteI've watched a few video's on paper piecing and it seems that even with careful cutting, there sometimes seems to be a lot of wastage (depending on the pattern of course) so I'm always in 2 minds whether to give it a try or not. Your pattern look interesting but lots of thin seams involved. Maybe a table runner it is then :)
ReplyDeleteGood morning Wanda. I thoroughly agree with your prognosis on this project, and think if you have enough blocks already made for a table runner, and if you feel like doing so, then go ahead. If you don't really want to, then chuck it all, and move on. At this time in your life, you should only do what you are 100% invested in doing. Just my opinion. lol
ReplyDeleteThat looks like an old Karen Stone pattern. I still love her designs!
ReplyDeleteIt looks right up your alley so I’m guessing it’s the paper piecing. I’m not fond of the technique either even though it is the best way to do some things. So far I’ve only done one house block with paper piecing so you’re ahead of me by one! :)
ReplyDeleteNice surprise to find two forgotten blocks in your magazine. Love the quilt on the front of the magazine .

Wow, that is an oldie. You are under no obligation to go back to it. Your tastes and abilities have gone past it probably and I love your new work.
ReplyDeleteLet it go . . . . even if you have the blocks made, I'd give it away or sell it as is. (my humble opinion)
ReplyDeleteSome projects just aren't meant to be.
ReplyDeleteSo those are paper pieced? It is a pretty block.
