As I continue my cleaning binge there isn't a lot of sewing going on. I had a TV show to watch last night so I started sewing pinks and greens together for a 16 patch. The pile of strips has been laying there waiting for a month or two. This is easy mindless sewing so I can concentrate on the show.
We have had several nights in the 40s and it is great to have the windows open and have a quilt back on the bed again. As a child we had no heat in the upstairs bedrooms so we were used to sleeping with a pile of covers on us in the winter.
I love pink and green together - and I have one of your pink/green beauties hanging right beside my ironing table in the studio.
ReplyDeleteEarlier this year, while purging my traditional florals, I cut a bunch of strips for a pink and green 16 patch too. Haven't done any piecing yet but it's ready to go when the mood strikes.
ReplyDeleteThe pinks and greens will make a pretty quilt. I wanted to open the window last night when I went to bed, but the high school band was still beating their drums at 8 p.m. I don't know how those kids get their homework done when they practice from after school until 9 p.m.
ReplyDeleteSeasons are definitely changing. The strips look happy and full of potential. Can't wait to see them in squares.
ReplyDeleteI made a pink and green prom dress for my sister too many years ago to remember how many. But I sure remember making that dress and it was pink and green beautiful. And so are your fabrics you showed today.

I live in western WA--have one quilt on the bed during the "summer" and two quilts on the bed during the "winter". But both "seasons" include 2 "kitties" and 1 dog :-)
ReplyDeleteI grew up with just a coal fire in the living room, no other heating in the house. Throughout my life I've never lived with central heating, even now in my 70's. I live frugally and just heat the kitchen were I do all my living - it's what you get used to I suppose. I love a cool bedroom with 2 duvet's as I sleep much better snuggled under them.
ReplyDeleteLove your pink and green fabrics :)
