The county fair continued...........

The quilt in the upper right is one entry by a lady who won many ribbons.

At the top left is a miniature of the same pattern that she also made.

I used my zoom lens to get closer to the mini version.  All I can say is WOW!

Another friend made this beautiful plaid crazy pieced quilt.

My friend Sarah won a blue ribbon on her bargello table runner.

Near Sarah's table runner was this little table mat.  I asked the lady in charge of the building if we could see it closer and she came over and held it up for us.

It is pieced.....1/2" finished little triangle squares......

  2. Good morning Wanda. Glad you had a good time at the fair. We used to go quite a bit, but now we both have trouble walking any distance. It's a great way to spend a day taking in all the exhibits, shows, farm animals, etc., but especially those Elephant Ears! When I saw the picture of yours' it made my mouth water The intricate work done on the large and small one by your friend, is mind boggling, as well as that little one, made with 1/2" squares. She must have Superman eyes and very nimble fingers that allow her to work with such tiny pieces. Amazing. Hope you are enjoying our cooler weather.

  3. Well I need to add my admiration for the small table quilt with the triangles. I love it. Love the design.. how the same color runs in a column, love the fabric and the overall feel of the quilt. And not too far behind this nugget of a quilt, I enjoyed the Plaid Crazy pieced quilt. Tho for me I may have chosen a different fabric for the narrow lattice. Just because it would have worked better in my home. I do like the idea of using my plaid scraps in this way and need to start saving plaid scraps from now on in their own separate jar. Thanks Wanda. I am excited as I have two fairs coming up the beginning of October and can’t wait to attend. One I traditionally go with my brother and the other with a daughter in law. Happy quilting weekend. From Maine.

  7. The quilt on the top right looks like a Karen Stone pattern variation of New York Beauty, if think the curved, pieced border add a whole new look.
