Fall...........

Front garden colors-- goldenrod, asters and pesky bindweed.
This time of year is exciting, cooler days start to sneak in here and there, and kids are back to school. I always loved Fall. Although the leaves haven't started to turn yet.

I was recently remembering how as a child I used to color the smooth gradation of a leaf changing from green to rust to brown on copy paper.

It's funny how something you did as a kid can follow you all the way through life and you maybe don't notice it's significance and how it's shaping everything you do. In a recent interview I mentioned this coloring passion and how color gradation is totally ingrained in my DNA today.

We opened my Colorwash course yesterday for enrollment and I can't wait to teach my tricks for color that aren't theory, they're easily repeatable steps that anyone can do.

I love sharing something that comes so easily for me and helps others break through the mystery of it all.

Here is the Interview I mentioned, and to Enroll in Colorwash 360 Click HERE.

  1. What is the name of the yellow flower? I had something a bit like that in white - Astilbe, which didn't do so well this year. The pink flowers look very pretty. My Fuchsia and Clematis are still in flower. For the first time ever I got something that could be bindweed, so I pull it out as soon as I see it anywhere - I guess it arrived on the wind seeing as I have a walled garden haha. Hope you're class enrolment is going well - have a lovely weekend :)

  2. Wanda, I love all you do, but the quilts that draw me in are your NON color wash quilts, but what I would call scrappy or controlled scrappy. Like what I find when I click the link for Kaffe fabrics in the right column. I will never be an art quilter, just want to make awesome quilts for my family and some fundraisers. I love the sewing, my dilemma is the color choices and layout. Would you ever consider doing a class for that type of quilts?

  3. I love the bold colors of the fall garden. Hate the bindweed. I remember coloring gradations of all the crayons in my box. I pushed hard for the big box and would try to do a color wheel of them before I knew what a color wheel was.

  4. I'm sure enrollment in your up coming Colorwash course is building each day. The bonus of this course is to meet you up close and personal plus learning all your magic tips on designing a perfect Colorwash.

  5. I really enjoyed reading about the class and watching the video today. You and your daughter were wonderful presenters. What I didn't see is when the class starts and when your live sessions are scheduled. I know there is a wedding and some work for me that could get in the way, but can maybe be worked around too.

  6. VERY much enjoyed the interview - sat and stitched while I listened. I hope your class fills and overflows - there is so much information in it and you and Vicki do a great job.
