This is this week's contribution to the postage stamp blocks. The squares are 1" so the blocks will finish at 8".
This is the bounty from the first 2 weeks, 7 a week even though I did them 10 the first week and 4 the second week. Like I mentioned yesterday it will take me 9 weeks at this rate to get the 63 minimum blocks finished. So.....7 more weeks to go. I did more cutting yesterday while it was so hot outside. I don't have much energy in this weather. The month is almost half over and I haven't finished anything yet. I think I need to clean off the longarm table and prepare a quilt for quilting this week, maybe 2 of them.
A nice dazzling array of blocks, I still marvel with you working with such small squares and tiny seam allowance. My favorite block is still with the putty colored squares. The prints seem to stand out on computer screen so much more.
It is hot here in the mountains but we do not have the humidity like you do and that makes such a great difference. You have my sympathy.
Energy levels are lower than usual here too with the heat and humidity. Your postage stamp blocks are looking so good! I probably won't start stitching mine until the two Optic quilts are pieced and one other that is partially started (not to mention the five webbed tops that need to be assembled).
I’m pretty sure I’ll be doing some blocks like these before long, but I’m also pretty sure that I’ll be cutting my squares two inches to finish at ,two and a half. Sewing one inch squares together just isn’t my strong suit, nor for that matter is accurately cutting a hole bunch of one inch blocks. I don’t have one of those accucutters or whatever they’re called that you use, so must cut everything with my totary cutter. It works quite well generally, and I can certainly cut a one inch square. But I don’t think I would be accurate if I start cutting a bunch of one inch squares from my scraps.
