Another quilt top sewn............

This looks so different in person.  The camera did not want to pick up the totally saturated colors.  The purples look blue in this photo too.  I hope I can get a better photo with some different lights on it.  It is 59.5" x 77".  The solid color fabrics are from the 1980s and 90s and the Jinny Beyer Palette prints are from the early 1990s.  I finished the layout and started sewing while my 2 friends were here sewing yesterday.  My son and daughter in law took me out for pizza for Mother's Day because they will be gone this weekend.  When I got home I finished the sewing and pressing.  It was a good day.

  1. All I can say is WOW! What a stunning quilt.

The fabrics may be decades old, but the quilt is so today. Congrats, Wanda. You've done it again.

  2. Beautiful colours and interesting design. Maybe because of my computer settings I don't see blue; I see medium/dark lilacs, but I love it all anyway.
We've already had Mothers Day here - glad you had a lovely day with your son and family - I'm sure they appreciate you very much :)

  3. It is frustrating to get fabric to photo right. I love this quilt- it is a strong finish. I got your envelope and am still going crazy changing all the squares. Nothing has gelled yet that I am happy with. Nice and sunny today!

  4. Happy Mother's Day Wanda. The quilt is beautiful, even if the camera isn't picking up the true color saturation. I usually try to photograph mine outside, on days without much sun, which we've had a lot of lately unfortunately, and usually accompanied by rain. Enjoy your day.

  5. Happy Mother's Day to you (and pizza sounds like a great way to celebrate). We're doing a split this year - the kids are celebrating with Little Man tomorrow at home and then we're going "grandma's mother's day" next weekend. LOVE this newest top - and I too am reading more lilac than blue.

  6. Beautiful. Those are the hardest colors to photograph. Happy Mother's Day.

  7. That's a stunning quilt top. I just love it. Since I am familiar with the fabrics you used (may have some in my stash, she whispers) I know what you mean about capturing colors accurately -- tricky combo to get the camera to recognize just right.

    Anyhow, wonderful quilt top!

  8. This is visually very pretty. Even if the camera didn’t pick up the colors correctly, it’s still beautiful.
