This is the layout that I saw that inspired this quilt with the "pickle" Kona cotton inserts. I only have 6 of the triangles trimmed at the insert fabric point so this is all I can show so far.
Of course I have to try some other layouts. I think this is pretty interesting.
For this layout you really need to see more blocks to see the double length line that the inserts will make.
I sewed a little on other projects too yesterday. I really like having a choice of 3 or more projects to work on. I know that would drive some people crazy.
If I work on just one project, I get bored, frustrated, and pressured. Working on different projects keeps me fresh and reflective, seeing things in a new light. Of course, there is more mess.
ReplyDeleteI usually have several projects ready except right now I have hemming stuck in there too. Pants and tops need hemming when I’d rather quilt.
ReplyDeleteThe pickle Kona looks so good with the pinks and purples. The variety of layouts is so interesting! I can see more playing that is going to happen before you decide on the final layout. I like to work on one project and get it done, but right now I have more than one going on.
ReplyDeleteI started out as a single project person - now there are many in all different stages. And I wouldn’t have it any other way! That third layout looks intriguing to me.
ReplyDeleteThose are really interesting. Looking forward to seeing more.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun block to design with . Love the slice of gold in the triangles. And as a fan of yours, I think it's great you're working on many pieces. Makes me check out your blog daily.

So many great possibilities with that block. Look forward to seeing how it develops. I really like the pickle accent inserted in each one.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your progress with the pickle project.
ReplyDeleteLove the "pickle" blocks - lots of possibilities. And the "three or more projects" is seldom only three in my world - LOL - ;))
