Time to make a decision........

I need these blocks off the design wall so I brought up several solid color pieces and pinned them to the wall to audition for the setting triangles.  The very top is a dark blue slightly toward turquoise.  On the left is darkest gray, a purple and next lighter gray.  On the bottom is my favorite of the purples.  On the right side are 2 more shades of purple.
The reason I like this bottom purple is that it has the most red in it and it seems to belong more than the colder purples although the one on the center left in the photo above isn't bad either.

This is the darkest gray which is good too.

This is the next lighter gray but I think it is a different gray than any that are in the crazy pieced blocks.

So.....the decision is between the 2 grays and the bottom purple or the left purple.  Any opinions?

The second offering of my online Colorwash360 class will be open for enrollment next week.  If you haven't previously signed up on my mailing list and would like info on the class go HERE to sign up.

  1. I like scrappy with scrappy. I’d use all different setting triangles, much like how you’re trying out the different fabrics. Happy quilting, happy spring!

  2. It is hard to tell because I am sure in person the colors look a bit different. From at least how the colors look to me I like the darkest purple on the lower right side. I don't see how you could go wrong with any of the selections you showed.

  3. I think I will go with the bottom purple or lighter gray. But my eye first liked the top gray/turquoise. I know things look different in "real life", and you always pick neat combinations, so looking forward to what you decide!

  4. I am definitely a purple person but I actually prefer the blue as it pops colors in the blocks. Have fun choosing!

  6. Good morning! It is truly difficult to tell from photo, but my eye prefers the dark gray which raises the question as to whether black may be a possibility, or is that too overpowering. Color is truly your "thing", Wanda, so maybe the purple you like is best. It just doesn't read to me in the photo, but it may be fantastic.
I look forward to what you choose.

  7. I personally like the purple. The grey seems too sterile.

  9. I like Chris’ idea to use them all for a scrappy effect.

  10. On my monitor I like the dark grey and the bottom and center-left purples, but the grey seems to be the same color as the outer strips on a couple of the blocks, which would throw off the symmetry. If it is, then either purple could be good. Again, depending on their actual colors. I have yet to see you make a bad color choice, so am looking forward to seeing what you end up with.

  13. Hi Wanda, for a reason or another I always come back to the top purple, I find it makes the color of the squares pop. My favorite is the purple on top.

  14. I like the purple on the right. If red was a choice that would be mine. LOL I have a dozen or more sweaters, tops and T shirts. I like everything You make and I'm sure this one will be no exception no matter what color you use.

  15. I like the blue, but I love the purples. Why not use both of them to add a little extra interest? Of course, your choice will be excellent so I'm not at all worried.

  16. I think the darker of the grays is very nice! As others have said, they all have merit. Let us know what you decide!

I like the dark gray or the purple that you like. Either on would be great. Changing the subject, I got my OBW project out of the UFO box and have spent 3 days working on arranging the blocks. You memtioned that you had 50 something more of the red hexie blocks to make. What size triangle are you using? And what size are you planning the finished project to be? It would be fun to see the original fabric along with your blocks. Anyway, I may be close to the final arrangement.
