I'm still not totally happy at the transition spot between dark and light but I think it might be as good as it is going to get. I had 8 more light blocks started so I will finish them and see if one of them is better before I take this off the wall and sew it.
Here are some of my yellow batiks laying across the ironing table waiting for me to decide on a pattern. I need the scraps so I can make more crazy pieced blocks.
Have you considered spreading the lights through the quilt diagonally from the top left corner down towards the bottom right corner--kind of like light filtering thru a window? Just a thought.

Your pineapple quilt is so beautiful. Those yellows are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI really like the transition just the way it is.
ReplyDeleteThose yellows are so nice and sunny to see on this cold morning. Is that check an Island Batik?
I would switch the 3 rd and 4 th blocks in the top row with the 3rd and 4th blocks in the 5 th row. Think it would blend better,,,,,,,I will email a photo if I can figure it out!
ReplyDeleteYour pineapple quilt is wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteTweak it more, it’s just not your usual quilt. And I truly hate saying this!
ReplyDeleteIt looks terrific. I know it is hard to tweak from photos. There are only a couple of blocks I would change.
ReplyDeleteI can never see what others comment about, this layout is beautiful. And when you tell us you might change it a bit, I just take your word for it, that it's going to make it better. (^._.^). Your yellows are glorious, so full of brilliant happiness. And so welcome on yet another winter day.

You can always make 'real' pineapples with all that pretty yellow! Do you have green batiks too? Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteI chuckled when I read that you needed to get the yellow strips sewn so you can have the scraps for your crazy quilt blocks. I'm guessing there will be more tweaks to the pineapple blocks before you're done.

I love your pineapple quilt top. Those blocks are so much work. No matter what tweaking you do it will be gorgeous. Yellows look so sunny.
ReplyDeleteThey will certainly be a bright spot.
