I sewed 4 light pineapple log cabin blocks last night. I showed all dark ones a couple days ago.
Here is the mix of dark and light blocks as shown on the cutting die package.
Here is a shot of both all light and all dark. I'm not sure which way I will go now so I'll just keep making blocks.
I'm using pencil boxes that I bought for 50 cents each to keep the pieces organized.
I put pieces of cellophane tape on the lid so I can write the letters of the pieces with a permanent marking pen. When I'm done with this project I can remove the tape and the boxes will be clean and ready for the next project.

Both versions are lovely, but I especially like the light ones best for some reason...I love pineapples but have never made that block...hugs, Julierose
I was wondering how a block would look if you made a block without the 4 corner triangles and put the triangles in the middle of the square, (turning the block 1/4 turn) making the middle square 'on point'? ...if you know what I mean? Just a thought haha - Love both the light and dark squares you've sewn - maybe light ones in the middle and darker on the outsides?
Has your snow gone now? Although it's been very cold here we only had some for a day or so - I expect more to come in the next month or so, we'll see. Have a nice weekend crafting :)
I wasn't sure how I was going to like the combination, but I love it. It seems to add that extra sparkle with the mix.
I like the combination. It's more dynamic...
I particularly like the light versions. Have fun with this process - you'll make magic happen.
Looking good! What if you use all light blocks for the center, surrounded by all dark blocks? It might create a luminous effect.
I love the way the corners of the four light blocks come together to make a beautifully-toned square.

I love all the colors. What about a half and half block? I love the way you store the pieces. I have been trying to die cut triangles from my batik scraps, but could not figure out how to store them so they are all not one big jumble. Something like this might work. I find zip loc bags work for a lot of things, but they get all tangled up together inside the baggie. Just lovely, colorful work.
Dark or light theses pineapple blocks are spinning right to my heart. It's going to be a sensational quilt. Organization has always been a priority in your design world.

You can really make blocks fast! Those are looking great! Yes, keeping making them so you will have more to play with.
Thanks for the storage tip!
