I started sewing this rectangle colorwash 2 nights ago and finished it last night.
It is 24.5" x 38.5".
I had to flip it and see if I like it better that way.
Then I figured I needed to see it as a landscape orientation.
And then I had to flip that to see if that was better.
I will have to make a decision so I know which edge to put the hanging sleeve on.
Good morning Wanda...The horizontals have my vote. Hopefully the rest of the snow will disappear today, and we don't get anymore till late December.
ReplyDeleteI like the fourth photo - the landscape orientation with blue and green at the upper edge. I could SO see this hanging above a bench, love seat, or small couch. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWow, that was fast! Looks beautiful all ways but I am partial to the verticals.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing Colorwash to play with. It's a beauty no matter which way you decide to display it. I know which way I'd hang it, but I'm not the designer. (*._.*)

Horizontal with green and blue at the lower edge, grass and sea, then red sky and dusk at the top, just my way of looking at all the colours. Lovely graduations.
ReplyDeleteIt's great any way.
ReplyDeleteIt really is pretty any way you turn it, but isn't it funny how very different it looks in each orientation!
ReplyDeleteIf this was hanging on my wall I'd be looking at #2 - Red Sky At Night, stood in a garden watching the waterfall haha.
ReplyDeleteHas your snow gone now? We're having more sunny days; can't believe how mild it is but the thermals are ready to wear any day now. Happy sewing :)
I love your colourwash quilts xx
ReplyDeleteI like the landscapes. Blue/green at the bottom looks like water and grass at sunset. Any orientation would be beautiful. Could you sew a sleeve on each edge and then switch it up when you get tired of one way.
