Yesterday I made Kringlas and shortbread cookies. Today I will make frosted creams, the family favorite dessert. That will be the end of the baking and then it is party time.
I am continuing to cut scraps into 2.5" and 2" squares with just little bits left to put in the dog bed stuffing bag. I am cutting some Brandon and Philip fabrics now to add to the Kaffe squares for another colorwash quilt.
My mom used to make Kringla, but I never have. One of my sons has taken that over. I love it! I cleaned my sewing room, getting ready for all my kids to come for Thanksgiving, because someone may have to sleep in there on an air mattress. It is overflowing with scraps. I need to be cutting and sorting them into 2.5" and 2" squares (along with strips, etc.), and organizing.
Happy Thanksgiving , and no need to roast the turkey with all those delicious deserts ! (*._.*) I baked yesterday too, making small pies for me. with my wonky diet I'm on, deserts sure aren't what they use to be.. But I'm thankful to feel better. Today is a big day in the kitchen for me.
Not only am I impressed with your quilt making skills, you also make perfect cookies! They are all so uniform in size one could swear they're bakery made. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family Wanda. Wish you lived closer to me so I could get "tips" on all the making of things you do. If you come back to TN Quilts let me know.
