Partially sewn..........

With the photo of my final layout on my computer screen I started sewing sections together.  I had to check many times to see if a certain piece was on the  left or right, top or bottom of a section before I sewed it to the previously sewn part.  I did finish sewing the top last night at 11 p.m. and didn't want to start photography at that hour (which is when I write my post for the next day and schedule it for 3:30 a.m.).  It will be on tomorrow's blog post.
I noticed from the kitchen window that my little Asiatic lilies are starting to bloom.  I bought 6 plants late last summer on clearance for less than $1 each.  I only saw 2 earlier this spring, then a third one and finally a fourth one.  I think the other 2 survivors might be a darker color but I won't know for a couple days.  The Evening Primrose are still blooming too.

The Veronica that I planted last summer is a good sized plant this year and is getting ready to bloom.

In front of the Veronica are 2 Coral Bells, one of which is blooming.  I see a couple volunteer trees in there to cut off or dig out.

  1. The quilt is coming along beautifully - such rich colors!

And I have seen those marked down Asiatic lilies at the end of the summer but never thought of planting them out for the next year - what a good idea!

  2. The quilt top is looking great! I am excited to see it done on tomorrow's post. My cora bells have not started to bloom yet, but with all the heat, humidity, and rain I am sure they will soon!

  3. I used to have coral bells, in several colors, but they didn’t come up this year. My lilies are a deep red and started blooming last week. I bought a beautiful pink iris bulb at Walmart and planted it and hopefully it will bloom next spring. I need to check out their flowers and see if anything is on sale. Looking forward to seeing this top sewed.

  6. Sewing that together must have you on visual overload! We got some rain overnight so things will be growing better than me watering them. Garden rockwall is being reassembled after last year's garage addition construction, so hope to have some good photos soon.
