I got a few of the blocks sewn for my new 16 patch quilt. The fabrics were cut when I cut this quilt. It is going to be a lot lighter than I expected but I like it. This is 15 out of 63 blocks.
I have a tutorial (downloadable PDF) on the free resources page on my website. All seams are going in opposite directions as you join the blocks into a quilt top if you follow my directions.
I have 7 more blocks here ready to sew and many strips ready to sew together. I have to cut some more strips today for 24 more blocks.
These look really great. Thank you for the tutorials. They are well written. Chris
ReplyDeleteThat is going to be a sharp quilt! That was great that you got some help doing a few jobs around the house. I could have use an extra pair of hands sorting those rocks! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the links to the pdf's - I downloaded a couple of them. It was good to see your pillowcase tut - I've made my own before and it's the only style you can buy here in the UK. When I see those 'magic' pillowcase tut's, although they look nice with the trim I don't like that you can see the pillow inside. We have another warm sunny dry day today - just right for me while doing some de-cluttering :)
ReplyDeleteI like the light look, seems real cozy.
ReplyDeleteThose look really nice in the lights.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Wanda, for sharing your expertise in the online tutorials. I have been teaching my niece to quilt and these will come in handy in getting her started. I learned some tips too!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the link to the tutorial, I clicked on there to find more! I like the photos of both sides of the seams and all made things much more clear to me. My first quilt was trip around the world, machine pieced in a tube and hand quilted - but your method is so much better. You have given me the confidence to make another now. Also the fabric stash - that has been an extremely useful tutorial. Thank you again.
ReplyDeleteAnd as I see the current postings (May 2018) - your peonies are going to be fabulous this year! I hope rain won't come to spoil the blooms - as is the usual thing here in my part of England. I am now thinking maybe they will need their own umbrellas! I very much enjoy seeing all your plants, indoors and out.
Kindest regards
A comment about the tutorials. I primarily use Firefox as my browser. In Firefox, it downloads a link to my download file, then I have to click on it and it usually opens in Adobe Acrobat if it is a pdf. Firefox did not recognize your files and I could not open them.
ReplyDeleteI went to Chrome and the links opened in a new tab with the chrome pdf viewer so I could see them. If anyone has trouble viewing your tutorials, this could be helpful for them.
Thanks for your informative tutorials. I have been sewing since childhood but I always like seeing new and alternative ways to assemble sewing projects.
