After a social afternoon I got to the design wall to layout this quilt. The star blocks are the Kite block that I cut with my die cutter. If I made one more row on the side and one more on the end it would start and end with a star block on every row. I have enough of the alternate block fabric to make this larger.
This is what you see when you get closer to the quilt.
For the cellphone readers of my blog: we realize the 2 links I have made, one below the header and one on the right sidebar don't show up for you so I'll give you the link to my new website and store here.
I love this quilt! The big block batik is a beautiful choice.
ReplyDeleteThe batik you were reluctant to cut is a great choice. Glad you are able to get to your design walls again.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of this quilt. The kite blocks are like little jewels against the background fabrics.
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is nice in the 'full shot', but it is siimply BREATHTAKING in the close-up !
ReplyDeleteI love this — it has a delicacy and almost a transparent look, that's not (i)your(/i) typical quilt. So beautiful, however! The kite blocks sparkle against the background.
ReplyDeleteOMG Wanda ~ another spectacular quilt top. I can see why you held off until you found "the perfect" piece to design with it. A magnificent showing of both the stars and batik.

I can see why you bought the alternate block fabric, why you hoarded it, and now, why you went for it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! Now to search my stash for an "alternate block" fabric - ;))
ReplyDeleteThis is charming! as usual!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I love the fabric used in the alternating blocks, doesn't detract from the Kite blocks, and they just leap off the quilt!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you ended up cutting into the background - it all looks beautiful together.
ReplyDeleteReally like this quilt.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! The dark blocks ground the quilt while the setting blocks give it aery flight! A perfect union. It is so satisfying when you finally find the perfect place for something you've saved for years. It's like the universe is giving you a pat on the back because you have bided your time patiently.
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! And so fast!
