Blues..........
I didn't cut or sew anything yesterday. I decided I needed to mow the grass before it got too hot. I only got 2/3 of it done when I decided it WAS too hot. I came inside and did a load of laundry and while that was going I played with a couple possible fabrics for sashing for these 12 blocks. The one on the right is a grayed blue and looked OK until I tried the brighter one. I finished mowing late in the afternoon and then transplanted some Columbines. While I was out there I also staked some of the taller tomato plants and pulled a bunch of weeds. It is going to be hot for the next couple days so I hope to spend a lot of time in the basement with my projects.
Really like the one on the left....bright one. To me it pops. Stay cool will be very hot here the next few days.
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference the blue one on the left made. It just lit up and said, "Choose me, I'm perfect for this job". It's going to be another eye popping quilt Wanda!
ReplyDeleteThe bright blue looks so good!
ReplyDeleteI love the bright blue! I wouldn't have thought of that! mary in Az
ReplyDeleteYour magic touch saved these blocks. That blue sure works great sprucing up those blocks.
ReplyDeleteThe blocks look so different with that blue sashing, very perky, more to my liking. I'm glad to say it's been a lot cooler here the past few days so got on with some sorting out of my fabrics/shelves while daughter is away for 3 days and will finish on Friday :)
ReplyDeleteMy first thought (when you presented the blocks a few days ago and said you weren't thrilled with the fabrics) was to add a grayish sashing. It looks fine.....but then when you changed it to the blue one,,,,oh that is so much better! If you are taking votes, the blue one gets mine too!
ReplyDeleteLike the gray on the right... LOVE the blue on the left! Makes the quilt sparkle without overpowering.
ReplyDeleteLike that brighter blue with the blocks. Glad you had enough sense to come in and cool off. The heat can get oppressive so quickly.
ReplyDeleteI love the brighter blue with the blocks - it sets them beautifully!
ReplyDeleteMe, too! - If you're taking a survey - I like the bright blue on the left - ;))
ReplyDeleteLeft side brighter is my pick., and too hot, we started the morning on minus 1 Celsius!!! White frost everywhere. I need some warm.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the brighter blue - perfect.
ReplyDeletegreat choice with the bright blue
ReplyDeleteI like the bright blue. I actually didn't even see the other fabric at first, thought it was the background or your design wall!
