Almost done..........

I finished the quilting of the tumbler flannel quilt but I couldn't make a decision on binding last night.  Hopefully the right piece will pop up in the box today and say "cut me".

I got a lot more volunteer trees cut yesterday.  Even though the humidity is down it is still hot out in the sun.  Each day the temperature is going to be a little warmer so I need to get my yard work done in the morning.  Afternoon and evening will be sewing time.

  1. Love the look and texture of the quilting. Binding would be tough to pick, but I am sure you have a lot of great fabric to choose from.

  2. I'm wondering how black would look? Still hot here but we are having lovely weather compared to earlier in the week.

  3. The quilting always adds so much to a quilt. Great organic line quilting too.

  4. Simple lines always surprise me at how much texture they bring to the quilt and how perfectly they adapt to so many different quilt styles. I'm really not sure why I stress over how to quilt as much as I do -- things don't need to be fancy to be wonderful.

  6. This is a flannel quilt, isn't it? Do you use flannel for binding as well? Strikes me that would be hard to work with for binding, and that you might have a more limited selection - even in your stash - of flannels from which to select, than if you can pick from all your cottons when you're choosing the binding! Good luck!

  7. Wanda, I sure do enjoy watching you work! I'm unable to sew much for a while so I live vicariously through all my favorite blogs. :)

  8. I did a king log cabin flannel quilt several years ago. It is so heavy that I can't use it: really sweat under it. I am thinking of giving it to my 5 yo granddaughter who is autistic and has night terrors. Maybe she will be comforted by the weight??
