I'm still cutting the Kaffe fabric 2.5" squares. I have 110 different fabrics cut so far, lots to do yet.
I have had this quilt basted and ditch quilted for a long time waiting to do the free motion quilting with clear monofilament thread. Click here to see the whole top. I did a tutorial when I was making this modular quilt. If you go to my Label list on the right sidebar it is called Modular Quilt Tutorial. I think I am about half way done with the quilting.
I planted some Canna bulbs yesterday at the lot line in back. I may plant a couple in pots too.
All those Kaffe squares make me weak in the knees. Rain here again. I had two large trees taken down yesterday because they got too large for the space. Boy, did they ever ruin and trample down all the blooming flowers. Kind of heartsick.
ReplyDeleteI looked up the tutorial and clipped it. It is a great idea for using some fabric I did not want to cut up the design. Thank you! I started reading your blog in late 2011, so I missed it.
ReplyDeleteI am trying Canna bulbs this year too, I haven't planted them in years I wonder how they well do, they are not as big and full as I thought they would be so far
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt, it's very unique. I wonder if this pattern could be used for some of the big blooms in Kaffe fabrics?
ReplyDeleteI remember this quilt -- seems like yesterday!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful quilt.
ReplyDeleteoh! I remember when you posted this! It encouraged me to try to make a modular quilt myself for the first time. I gathered up fabric showing the Alaskan animals to remember my Alaskan quilt cruise - i was really proud of myself and proud to show it to my family and friends!
ReplyDeleteMy back aches a little just looking at all those cut squares. It will be worth it in the end, I am sure. --Andrea
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy seeing your Farm Girl blocks, us country girls love them...
ReplyDeleteI can hear the theme music to "Out of Africa" playing when I looked at your Modular Quilt. Each of your designs always tells me a story. (*._.*)
