A few more rows..........
I pulled out the blocks with the darkest lights in them and then I added one more row on the left and 2 rows on the bottom. I ended up using a few of the darker ones again in the bottom rows because I was out of light ones. It should finish about 45" x 63" now. I pulled a muscle in my neck and have been dealing with pain for a few days. Some things I do irritate it, like cutting and basically most things looking down. I think looking down while hand stitching the binding really irritated it. Working at the design wall doesn't bother it at all. I hope to get to cutting the wide borders for the other quilt today or tomorrow.
I really like this top. It is very striking. Hope you feel better soon. Chris
ReplyDeleteI like how you handled the one really light block by putting it in the center. The quilt is very graphic. Take car of your neck. I made a feed corn bag for my neck and shoulders. I heat it in the microwave and wear it a lot.
ReplyDeleteYou did it again.....created another beauty from your leftovers and extras! This is so striking. So hope the neck pain gets better soon.
ReplyDeleteQuilting can be quite a pain in the neck, and wrists, and back sometimes. I really love this quilt top!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Wanda!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Wanda.....maybe you could aptly title this quilt your 'Pain in the Neck Quilt', although it far too pretty to do so. It's a very striking quilt, and bet it is far more vibrant in person.
ReplyDeleteI've really been enjoying the photos of your plants, especially those gorgeous Hostas. Ours are equally as large this year and need to split about a dozen plants and put them in areas where I have killed off all the weeds that have overtaken areas at the back of the property.
Sorry to hear about your neck. I hope it clears up soon.
ReplyDeleteComing along nicely. Smart you to have all of those HSTs prepped and ready to go for when the inspiration hits.
ReplyDeleteIf you have a TENS unit, a session with it on your neck will help a lot. I have one that I use mostly for my lower back, but it also works well for the neck.
ReplyDeleteThe "heat sack" someone else mentioned works well too. You can make a really quick on with an old sock (no holes) and some cheap white rice. Heat in the microwave and use. (It also works to freeze in the freezer for a cold pack.)
I hope your neck heals quickly.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to figure out why I particularly love this quilt. is it the primary colors that sparkle in front of what looks like sky behind them? and then the grassy green center squares ... hmm.
ReplyDeleteWow, another beautiful quilt. Rest and heal. You have earned it.
ReplyDeleteFascinating quilt--thank you! Feel better soon--neck things are awful.
ReplyDeleteI've been dealing with TMJ and tendinitis in my neck and shoulder for about 6 weeks now...I feel your pain! Just when you think you have it better you do exactly the wrong thing. Hope it passes soon.
ReplyDeleteSending healing wishes for the neck pain. I really, really like this quilt top!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better quickly! This is another fantastic finish. You do such amazing work. --Andrea
ReplyDeletebeautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat looks really nice. Great color placement.
ReplyDeleteLove it!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSure hope you feel better soon. The quilt top is looking great, I knew you'd do it!!
ReplyDeletelooks so good now you have swapped some blocks. Hope the neck is soon better a pain isn`t it when it interfers with our stitching
ReplyDeleteSorry about your neck! Do you have a heating/cooling pad so you can treat it? I'm usually too impatient to just rest and treat an injury like rhat, but it'll probably heal faster if you do. What bother!
ReplyDeleteThe dark triangles do look a lot less noticeable at the bottom, and I'm not sure I would've even noticed them if you hadn't mentioned them a/o I hadn't seen them in the first layout. I really do love this quilt. The use of the occasional black and white print is also striking and wonderful!
The top is looking lovely, sorry to read about your neck, hope it improves quickly.
