I sewed a few triangle squares several times yesterday and have enough for about 7 blocks. I designed and sewed one block too.
I designed a second one but it was too late to sew it together.
I mowed my grass yesterday afternoon and then decided I needed to take some update photos on the backyard gardens. If you want to see the comparison of 2 weeks ago and 3 weeks ago they are on this post.
The hostas are spreading out now, Lily of the Valley is totally out of control all over this back garden.
The Columbines are getting ready to bloom. The Redbud petals are falling.
The peonies are tall and full of buds.
I have some of my batik colorwash kits done and will talk more about them tomorrow.
I ooo and ahhh over each star you design. Such beauty! Did you limit your palate or just using up scraps?
ReplyDeleteSuper blocks and more triangles. It is odd, I had always imagined your garden would be so tiny, and not that size, with so many beautiful plants and bushes, Peonies, my favourites, down here they flower in November, and hostas, they have beautiful leaves, I have one that has pale mauve flowers on tall stems.
ReplyDeleteJust so excited about the stars! Every one is like a little present. I know they are a lot to sew, but oh, they look terrific. Rain is supposed to move in later today for days, so no gardening cleanup for me.
ReplyDeleteWith all the rain we have been having everything is so lush right now. It looks like more rain today too.
ReplyDeleteYour garden and blocks are so pretty. It is raining again today, my dogs are so tired of all the water, wind, thunder and lightning. I bought some bulbs to plant for next spring and for this summer but I never get the chance to plant them.
ReplyDeleteWanda, every time you show a new star block I think it's my favorite, then the same thing when you show yet another! Love them all...this is going to be an awesome quilt!
ReplyDeleteYour yard looks so pretty....love all the variety...thanks for sharing!

It's so nice to see the garden coming alive so well again. Sorry to see the redbuds loosing their blossoms. They are so stunning.
ReplyDeleteAnother super star!! Are your finished HST 3"? I'm sure you told us but I don't remember :(
ReplyDeleteblocks are growing rapidly and the garden is lovely could do with some of your lily of the valley have no success with it here the blossom looks lovely
ReplyDeleteyour star blocks are beautiful. this last one 1 of the blocks is backwards. bottom row 2nd from left. you seem like a perfectionest so I thought I would tell you- unless that is what you intended Kris
ReplyDeleteMy peonies are on their second year in the ground. They are coming up nicely, but may not bloom this year. :( Next year I expect they will be beautiful. The lilacs only half bloomed this year - dear hubby didn't trim them enough I guess. He did have half the crabapple trees removed (we had 9 originally) which fall over all the sidewalks in the fall making a mess. The remaining bloomed poorly this year. I said he probably had the male-female ones too far apart for good blooming. He won't mind not picking them up. Wish we could have transplanted them somewhere, but he no longer can do all the work he used to do due to problems with his hands. I can't due to other structural problems and skin cancer, so...sad to see them go though. They were so delightfully beautiful in the spring, but alas, the blooms only lasted a week at best, which didn't make up for all the work they caused. This will be the second year in the ground for my Louisiana Cajun Iris, which should be gorgeous when they bloom, but haven't even made a showing, having been eaten down by rabbits last year. I think I need some plant food for these things to help them hurry along to some fine blooms. Always enjoy your flowers.
