I found a little stack of triangle squares and sewed another batch and completed 4 more stars. Then I pressed a pile of batiks scraps and cut a bunch more triangles, enough for 6 more blocks.
The four new blocks are mixed in with the 20 blocks that were already completed.
We had another cold windy day yesterday with rain off and on. Luckily it was only small showers and was less than a quarter inch. Altogether on the weekend and yesterday I had 3.75" of rain in my rain gauge. They are talking more rain Thursday and we sure don't need it.
I know at one point you said you had 20 and needed to make fifteen more blocks. Are you still planning for a 7 by 5 layout?
ReplyDeleteI think these stars are addictive for you...lol. It is beautiful. So enjoy studying your color combinations.
ReplyDeleteThese blocks are magical sparklers. Each one is beautiful and when they are all together, they contribute overall color and value flickering to the whole.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Wanda.....It's always amazing to me how much you accomplish in a day's time. Are you sure you don't have some robotic parts imbedded in your body?
ReplyDeleteI'm getting really tired of all the rain, cold and wind. Guess we're paying for all the nice winter weather we had in February and March. Our rain gauge is showing almost 5 inches for the same time frame, but no matter whose is right, it's still too much. Guess we'll have a late planting season this year.
I love these blocks. I can't wait to see the final quilt.
ReplyDeleteMore pretty stars! We got a lot of rain yesterday for about an hour. It rained so hard that we started to get water from the job site running off the site. That means that dirty water was heading across a parking lot into the storm drain which is a big no-no. The contractors are out here today and trying to fix the issues before the next big storm blows thru. It is quite windy here this morning and is has been raining on and off. The gusts of wind shake the trailer - yikes!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a lovely quilt!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I'm enjoying watching them all come together. Each one is lovely by itself, but all together --- just, WOW!
ReplyDeleteLove to watch these evolve - and with more blocks the secondary pattern is beginning to emerge. Genius!
ReplyDeleteDesigning all your lovely STARS has got you through all your rainy days. That's the positive for muddling through all your rainy days.
ReplyDeleteMy sister told me she emptied her rain gauge with that much rain also... I told her that Kalispell, Montana was trying for a record breaker to hit 3" for the MONTH of April. (*._.*) I don't think they made it.
JJM
so colourful this is going to be a lovely quilt
ReplyDeleteSome day I think I might have to make a quilt like this.... maybe when I run out of other ideas.... lol. Weather here has been uncomfortable, wet and rainy, cloudy and grey, and the wind the last few has been relentless!!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous blocks!
ReplyDeleteThe blocks are coming together so well! Beautifully done as usual!
ReplyDeleteThose stars are fabulous! And I love the secondary star you might get if you set them without any sashing. That quilt will keep one gazing at it for hours!
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoy your blog and look forward to it each day. You use a cutter to cut your triangles, correct? Do you have to size your HSTs after you sew them together? Sizing HSTs is so laborious! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYou really have a way with color. I still think you should write a book.
