I was gone most of the day yesterday but I worked on this quilt last night. I unpicked the rest of the pieces and then started sewing some long strips together. It has already shrunk 3" in width. It will be a total of 23" narrower by the time all of the strips are sewn together.
Looking great! It looks to me as if you're seeing the entire long strip top to bottom of the quilt together, not just a quarter of the quilt, is that correct? The strips aren't that long, though, when you start, are they? I thought you built this quarter by quarter? And I assumed you sewed it together that way as well.
There's just no substitute for experience. Your eye and your years of working with fabrics and patterns never fail to pay off. I wasn't sure what you meant at first (about the yellow and purple) but now I see it. What a beautiful sight to watch unfold on your design wall!
It is lovely. You amaze me with all you get accomplished every month.

It looks so beautiful. Really like the yellow center now and that means the lavender goes all the way around....perfect!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a spring garden. It is coming together very well even though it is a lot of long strip sewing.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of sewing and seam matching. Enjoy and good luck!
