Cutting triangles...........

It was a rainy day yesterday.  We got a little over 2" of rain by 10 p.m.  More rain expected today and tonight.
I did lots of pressing fabrics and cutting with my Studio die cutter.  I was cutting triangles plus more fabrics for the batik colorwash squares kits.

All of these different fabrics are in the piles in the photo above.  I can cut 10 layers at a time but I think I only had about 7 layers this time.  I am working with scraps not yardage.

The quarter inch wide scraps are going in the dog bed filler bag.

I pressed the 20th block and put it up on the design wall with the others.  I am leaving a space between the blocks on the wall because I intend to do some kind of sashing, probably narrow and in a neutral light color.  I'll know more when I start playing with choices for the sashing.  Meanwhile I have 15 more blocks to make.

Gosh, I really love this one. And it's totally outside my preferred color/style which is fairly broad in scope. I've followed you're blog for several months now so therefore you're particular "style" probably has grown on me. But for me, this one "smashed it out of the park" as my boys would say in their youth. Thank you so much for you're time, I'm guessing it does take time and commitment for anyone to blog seriously. This is important and I'll tell why. I'm a R.N. who just retired from nursing last fall at almost 73. I discovered blogs in December and follow several. Now, I consider myself a serious quilter of 30 years who made 7 large quilts in 2015 along with working 4 days a week and caring for along with riding my two horses. (Less quilts last year as major home remodeling was occurring.). I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH FROM ALL THE BLOGGERS. And I'm very thankful for you all all the bloggers out there who put so much effort into sharing with those of us on the other side of you're screen.

I'm almost finished with quilt number 5 this year and have three more on my list to make for family. Right now, my mind is filled with inspiration for the next one after those are done. This one will be mine and I'm going to head down the path you have led me. Thanks "bunches" as my grandmother would say.

great looking blocks! I think you got more rain then I did - still can't believe how all the storms were moving west around us yesterday and didn't get to us until evening, we were lucky - the rest of the family will be sitting in water for awhile up in the northern part of the state

This quilt gets more beautiful with each addition of new blocks! I like watching the growth of this quilt.

This quilt is going to be one of the best you've made. We are drowning in rain here, it just isn't stopping. The Illinois river is flooding and I expect the Missouri and Mississippi are too by now . My flowers and grass are loving the rain though .

I'm with Anonymous above. I can't thank you enough for all you share and inspire. Quilting came late to my life but I've always done some form of artwork--for friends, for family, for selling. And my inspiration has always been color.
You have unknowingling guided me along and expanded, pushed out my horizons. This quilt is simply a masterpiece--just "wow." Keep blogging, please, and we'll keep following your inspiring journey. Thank you for your generosity and the astounding amount of work you put into sharing your path.

what a great quilt these blocks are going to make. I have seen the cutting machines but not been tempted so far a new sewing machine is higher up on the wish list

I have enjoyed watching you put this one together. My husband's aunt gifted me with a huge box of fabric. I wasn't sure what I'd find and waited a couple of weeks to really explore the contents (finishing up some projects). This weekend I went exploring and found many delightful prints and fabrics. I, too, spent some hours pressing and cutting. I didn't make a dent but I have a lovely pile of perfectly cut shapes ready to sew.

How long does it take for you to sew one block together? I bet you are getting fast at sewing one together! The blocks are so pretty!

Golly Wanda, each one of your quilts is unique in color and design, I learn so much from your posts, thank you so much. The only negative is that I have a to-do list that longer than my life!
