4 butterflies..........

I chose one more pair of fabrics and made four new Kaffe collective butterflies.

Here are all eight blocks so far.  I have no idea how many blocks I will make or what size this quilt will be.  I will just work on it now and then until I'm tired of it.

I took my camera out to the back garden and saw that the Brunnera is blooming.  It was barely up the last time I took photos.  We have had a lot of rain and several sunny days so things are popping up fast.
The Lungwort/Pulmonaria is the earliest bloomer in my gardens.

I should have raked the front garden because this hosta has really grown in the last week.  It is supposed to be in the low 80s on Saturday so if it isn't too wet maybe I can get that bed cleaned up.  The weeds are doing well too.  The dandelions are starting to bloom.

  4. I planted 2 Brunnera last year, one came back the other didn't. I had 2 bleeding hearts and neither of them have made an appearance. I had them for 3 years I was surprised that neither came back. We had a very mild winter compared to normal I didn't think that would bother them. Once your plants come back they never seem to take real long to catch up to mine

  5. My lilacs are starting to bloom and a friend sent me a picture of her clematis in full bloom but mine are only about two feet high. We have several dandelion areas I tried to clean up but some good yard chemicals will do the job better. Your butterfly blocks very vivid!

  8. Despite the heavy pollen, this time of year is my favorite -- so wonderful to watch things come back to life after the dormant season.

  9. Those are very pretty butterflies. I was out photographing a few blooming things yesterday too. We've had a cold wet spring in the northwest, and we're way behind with things budding and blooming.

  10. The scilla has been beautiful. Some daffodils have blossomed, others are about to. The peonies have really grown. I staked them yesterday.

Your butterflies are wonderful. (Many butterfly patterns are clunky -- the bodies look like fat cigars. Not yours!)

  11. Beautiful butterflies! I love your fabric choices - it inspires me to look for those kind of combinations for a block I'm making for another quilt. I am going to order this pattern!
