The tablerunner was laying there waiting to be quilted but I opted to knit last night instead. I am using up some partial skeins of yarn in my dishcloths.
It was warm yesterday so I went to the backyard and broke off the flower stalks of coneflowers and hostas. Now all that is left is to rake the leaves. I probably will wait another week before I do that.
One Amaryllis bulb out of 8 from years past sent up a bud stalk. It has this bloom and one bud that should be open in a couple days. The bud pod looked small so I didn't think it would have the typical 4 blooms.

The flower is gorgeous! It is suppose to be in the low 50's here today. Right now we are getting a bit of rain.
Knitting dishcloths can be very soothing. It's about the only knitting I'm comfortable doing. Lovely color on the bloom.
That flower color is so pretty and vibrant. I also have been knitting dish cloths with various patterns. Still using your pattern though I make many mistakes.
What a beautiful, vibrant bloom on that Amaryllis. Plants that bloom during the off season, are really appreciated for the joy they give us.
That was quite a storm we had during the wee hours of the morning. The hail and lightening woke me up and then I lay there, not able to go back to sleep for awhile, unsure if the hail would do any damage. Fortunately, I was able to, after about half an hour.
If you run short of yarn, let me know, as I have some colors I probably won't use for baby items.
Knitting is always so relaxing, but that red runner is going to be beautiful. The amaryllis bloom is beautiful too.
That's a great idea to use up partial skeins of yarn. Despite the fact that they are just scraps, the colors you put together make the dish cloth look very pretty.
That flower is gorgeous! We're still gray and cool in my neck of the woods. It's nice to see some color appearing in other areas.
I came across your blog through QuilterBlogs. I hope you don't mind if I "follow" along.
Your Amaryllis is gorgeous!
Indoor flowers this time of the year are so appreciated. ypur Amaryllis is a beauty. I've been practicing knitting with the same dishcloth pattern. I like working with the cotton yarn. It's a nice break from working on the quilt top that's almost finished. I'm not as fast as you are in piecing tops!
I always enjoy your flower and nature shots; thanks for sharing them. Do you sell your washcloths by chance?
I meant to say dishcloths, not wash cloths. I didn't see any for sale on your sell site. Thanks in advance for your reply. (pilkcindy@gmail.com)
Beautiful bloom there. I just finished a dishcloth for myself and now am doing one for my niece. Do you use the English method (which I was taught in home ec class), or the continental method which my grandmother must have used? She would always just laugh at my knitting efforts and try to tell me how she did it. I told her that's not the way we were taught in class. She'd shake her head and laugh. :D I was 60 yrs. old before I realized she was laughing, because she learned from her mother who probably did the continental method. I'm trying to teach myself that now for speed knitting. The idea of me speed knitting is a joke though. The one I just made for me testifies to that. :D Please answer in the next blog post. Thank you.
