I rarely watch the Oscars because I usually haven't seen any of the films but I had seen one of them this year. Last night I decided to turn it on and listen to it while I ditch quilted a colorwash wallhanging. I did finish the quilting right at the moment that they announced the wrong film winning the Oscar for best film. What a shocker. One group had to leave stage and the other bunch come up there and try to recover and give their acceptance speeches. I'm sure there will be replays of that on the news several times today.
I had a nagging suspicion that I should watch the Awards, but I decided I was too lazy to change the channel and watched an entire episode of Dateline. I HATE that show and to make things even more boring I guessed the outcome at about 5 minutes into the story. Should have gotten out of my chair and changed the channel!!!
I recorded it but went to bed before it ended. What a shocker. Feel bad for everyone involved. The only one of the best pictures I'd seen was "la La Land". I was happy that Piper won best animated short but I'd expected Moana to get the best animated.
Congratulations on another finish - the pinwheel quilt. I watched the red carpet, but taped the awards ceremony. I had working in the studio 10 hours and I was tired. I read about the oops for best picture and I will see it once I get around to watching my tape.
I went to bed before it happened but heard all about.it. Awkward. I haven't seen the films either. Lion is here this week along with La.la Land. I'd like to see Lion but it depends if I can drag myself out after supper. I usually head in and put my pjs on, lol.

ReplyDeleteWe boycotted the Oscars on purpose. So tired of these award shows and the winners getting into a political rant for their acceptance speeches.
