All I can say at this point is that this is going to look a lot better when I can start sewing rows together. I have decided on a single 6" row at the top and bottom of the quilt. I still have one more section of 3" tumblers to sew into rows and they will make a double section of 3" blocks at the center of the quilt. I need to swap that bottom double row of 6" blocks with the 3" tumbler section. I need 1 more row of 6" tumblers and I will have to get out my yardage to cut the tumblers because I'm officially out of large scraps to use.

More flannel tumbler rows...........

That sounds good. Officially out of flannel scraps. I have yardage of flannel girly pieces and this coming Winter the three girls will have each a rag quilt. I think I will have to buy a larger piece for the backing pieces. I thought I would make them all different so they know who it belongs to. I am sure it feels good to use this batch up. Chris
ReplyDeleteWhen I pulled up this picture I thought you got the pattern great looking. Now you are going to put the 'Wanda tweak' on it and tomorrow it's going to be even more fantastic.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of rock strata layers. The patterns sort of sparkle.
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt.
ReplyDeleteLove this design. You are amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove this design. You are amazing!
ReplyDeleteNow that there are more rows it look great with the mix on 3 and 6 inch. It will be a really nice quilt.
ReplyDeleteNice selection of flannels. I purchased a kit with an assortment of blacks, greys and plaids and solids. The tumblers were already cut. Soo
ReplyDeletenice to just start sewing. You have given me ideas for mixing up the pattern. Thanks. Alice
Like the mixture of sizes -- looks warm and cozy already. Happy to hear you say that you need to resort to yardage now!
ReplyDeleteBoy, wouldn't I love to be able to say I'm out of scraps, lol. Great way to use up shirtings, flannel or not. I like the big-little combination.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be one great flannel quilt with lots of cozy fun fabrics to look at as well. You have made the 'Tumblers' famous.

I love this combo of big and little tumblers. I need to remember this!
ReplyDeleteOh it's looking great now! I was having a hard time seeing what was going to become of it and whether I was going to like it when there was only a few rows. Evidently I didn't have the imagination or vision you did! And therein lies the difference!
ReplyDeleteI love your colour combination. Thanks for sharing.
