I started making the pinwheel blocks for this quilt in May 2013. 19 of the blocks have hand dyed fabric by Vicki Welsh, the rest of the fabrics are by Westminster fabric designers, Kaffe Fassett, Brandon Mably, Philip Jacobs and Martha Negley. The finished size is 58.5" x 71".
I was happy that I had a large enough piece of a dark Kaffe Fassett fabric for the back.
This has to be one of my most favourites of all your quilts - it could even be top of the list :) I love the colours and the combinations of the pinwheels and circle fabric. I'm now on the lookout for fabric with 'movement' or something with a bit of oomph!!! It's drizzly here today, not really cold, but definitely staying in and sewing kind of day - just need to get my mojo back on track. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Like other readers, I will say that this is probably my all time favorite of your quilts. Just how many WIP's (works in progress: a term I prefer to UFO's) are lurking in your studios and basement???
Beautiful finish -- love that it has some of Vicki's fabrics along with your beloved KFs. You are a master with colors -- I know we've told you that before, but it is SO true. Gorgeous . . .
Absolutely mesmerizing, in a blink my eyes re-focused just on just the spinning circles, next the pin wheels, the diamonds and oh yes the blocks them selves. Great wake up for a Saturday morning. Another awesome piece Wanda.
This quilt is such a knockout! The fabric in the setting squares is dynamic and the brilliant colors in the pieced blocks have wonderful zing. A winner!

ReplyDeleteWanda; I think I want to make this quilt out of brown and yellow Kaffe fabrics.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a source for a pattern, or can you give me the measurements for the HSTs and solid blocks?
Thanks!
