I chose the binding fabric for the Bento Box quilt and pressed it but haven't cut it yet.
I pressed the backing for this quilt and got it loaded on my longarm yesterday afternoon. I quilted it last night.
I did organic straight lines, little wobbles here and there. This top was 69" x 93" before quilting. I haven't trimmed it yet so I haven't measured it but I bet it shrunk a little in width because of the quilting pattern.
Yesterday was an icy day so I stayed home all day. My driveway is covered with a layer of ice pellets.
Smart woman, no falls for you on ice! Great finishes. I have got to get on my longarm as there is log jam of tops. Too bad I can't take a long arm on a retreat!
ReplyDeleteThose icy "have to stay home" days are a perfect time to get some quilting done. I love the quilt on the longarm - and the backing is a wonderful choice.
ReplyDeleteI had my seam ripper out last night picking apart the small portion of the baby quilt I was going to machine quilt - I started to do it "fancier" than what I should have and made a mess LOL - I need to stick with the organic lines - it will suite the simple blocks much better and be much neater.
ReplyDeleteYou are on a roll to start the new year full of finishes. Yes, avoid the ice and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteTwo weeks into 2017 and you are already on #3. That is amazing.
ReplyDeleteLove that Trip Around the World!
ReplyDeleteI love this organic way you quilt. I enjoy doing the same type of quilting to my quilts. You had ice yesterday, and I am being hit by Icepocolypse today! Stay warm and safe!
