Snail's Trail top..........

One of the ladies was sick so only two came over to sew yesterday.  I sewed the Snail's Trail blocks into a top that measures 59" x 83".  It will be a nice couch quilt to put in my gifting stack.  I will look for a backing for it tomorrow.

I baked the two batches of cookies for the art quilters on Saturday night so I am all ready for them to come today.
When the Studio die cutter was first available it took up this much space all of the time and it is heavy and not easily moved.

A couple years ago they made Studio 2, a folding version and also had a kit to make the original Studio cutter into a Studio 2.  When the kit was on sale at half price I bought it.  Now the cutter won't take up much room when company comes to sew.

  3. The batiks make the quilt pattern special instead of the traditional fabrics. I am glad my cutter folds up. I just bought the triangle in a square and really like it.

  4. While I don't do anywhere near the amount of quilting you do, an Accuquilt cutter is in my future.

  8. Love the 'swirling movement' in Snail's Trail. ~ A kit to make your Studio die cutter fold up for space. Your studio's in general makes all of us envious of your creative designing space.

  10. Your choice of setting squares makes this look very much like a marble floor. Beautiful!

  11. Cool retro-fit -- taking up less space and having full function when needed is awesome.

  12. Wanda, I so enjoy your blog and the projects you work on. The snail block quilt just amazes me....while you were working on it, I didn't really see how the different colors would work together. Choosing colors and fabric is my weak point. But when you did the final arrangement, oh my what a difference! So neat. Thanks for sharing your days with us.
