I pulled out my Farm Girl Vintage blocks while my friends were here yesterday and made one more block, the large sunflower. I still want to make 2 more little chicks and piece in some legs on the sheep instead of the embroidery they are calling for. I haven't decided on a layout yet; that will come after I made another 10 or more blocks.
Last night I opened the new roll of batting and cut pieces for 2 quilts. This will be the next one I do. I have the back partially pieced for the one that comes after this one. I think I will cut 2 more pieces of batting before I put the roll of batting in the fruit cellar storage area.
The Farm Girl Vintage quilt is really starting to look good. I love the sunflowers.
ReplyDeleteCutting batting can be a chore with that heavy roll! It is like wrestling a bear - not that I have ever wrestled a bear - but if I had I think that what it would be like! LOL!!! I have not had to open the new roll I bought a couple of weeks ago. It is still sitting in the garage.
ReplyDeleteWrestled my batting yesterday and cut for four, although I need more. I am toying with buying a 90" wide roll so I don't have to wrestle such a big one.
ReplyDeleteThe blocks look great, but my oh my, the time involved!
Farm Girl blocks makes me feel good. They have that '50's' feel to them, and the older I get the more I love vintage and antiques. Because I am too ~ I guess. (*._.*)

Gorgeous FG blocks - I agree about piecing in the sheep's legs! I love my big roll of batting but it is hard to handle (although it is getting smaller which makes it easier)
ReplyDeleteHave you ever talked about what is your favorite batting? I'm wanting to order a roll of batting and am trying to determine the best one to buy?

The Farm Girl Vintage blocks look great. I love the tractor.
ReplyDeleteI love your carefully pieced blocks. Especially love the background fabric you chose!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! I love the farm girl blocks. I've got the book...but so far I'm only dreaming as I page through it. You are such an inspiration!
