I have 4 days to reorganize the storage areas in my basement. I worked most of the day down there yesterday. Do you have one of these panels? Click on it to enlarge it if you want to read it easier. It says 1983 Daisy Kingdom on it. It is still just a panel not made into anything after all of these years.
A few days ago I found eight more fabrics for the current purple quilt. Yesterday I found 4 more so I can make 24 more blocks now for a total of 72 blocks. Now I just need to press out the fold lines and cut the 10" squares.
One of the boxes I went through has my corduroy yardage. One of these is 3.5 yards, one 4 yards and one 5 yards. I'm planning on using these as quilt backs.
There are several more pieces of smaller yardage in the box.
Here are two 60" wide pieces of corduroy, two yards of each. I'm glad I finally opened the box and went through it. I knew I had some that was 60" wide but didn't know how much. There is one more pale yellow print that is about 1 3/4 yards.
I have 2 and a half quilt backs pieced so I hope to load one quilt today and quilt it.

I like the idea of corduroy quilt backings. They would be especially nice on flannel or homespun quilts.
That's so cute! My husband got me a bear the very first Christmas we dated (1998!) so I've got a huge soft spot for them. Love the part about the pins :)
Good morning Wanda.....What fabulous corduroy prints you have. I remember the first thing I ever sewed for my daughter was a bright red corduroy jumper when she was about 3 years old. It's such a soft, warm fabric, but at that time, there was nothing like the beautiful prints you showed us. Of course that was 57 years ago, since she will be 60 this year.
It's going to warm up quite a bit today and from what I just read, it could be close to 50, which should melt quite a bit of the ice from the pond in the back yard.
Have fun quilting today.
Why four days to reorganize? At any rate, it is good to reorganize, but the process is wearing. Hope you get it all to your liking.
When we moved recently, I had to reorganize too. What a job ! I ended up sending 4 huge boxes weighing about 35-50 lbs to the Indian Reservation in South Dakota. I had ribbons, zippers you name it, but mostly fabric. All gone. Now I need to clean again all the boxes I brought with me and see what's in those. Reorganizing isn't fun !
I have never seen that panel. Love the corduroy fabric. I don't have any in my stash. :(
Love your Teddy Bear panel. :) It should be hanging in a place that needs smiles because of its cuteness.
How cute the bear panel and how true it is. vera.
ah! corduroy! I have a lot of it, left over from the days when I could wear (and sew) slacks that didn't need to be stretchy! I've been wanting to use it somehow, but... for quilt backs? won't that make the quilts terribly heavy? or do you cut down on (or eliminate) the batting when you put corduroy on the back? I made a corduroy bedspread once, but stopped using it because even the corduroy by itself was too heavy. ... or maybe you use it for wall hangings?
I have acquired VIP panel prints over the years but I've never seen the teddy bear one. So often pieces of fabric float to the top of the stash, the way that rocks appear in fields after winter. Hope your sales are successful!
Oh, I have one of those bear panels. At some point I gave up on embellishing it and just stapled it to stretcher bars. It hung over my sewing machine for years and I pined notes and momentos to the edges. I think it's still down in the basement after the renovation we did a few years back.

Isn't it fabulous to find all of the "lost" goodies? It makes cleaning worth the effort.
Love those corduroy prints! Thanks for sharing.
1983 Daisy Kingdom... OMG Wanda I forgot all about them. Darling Teddy Bear panel.
Purples are glorious ~
Your corduroy prints that are extraordinary. So full of colorful detail ~ you wouldn't select anything that wasn't I know.
What a fun day it turned out to be ~ Thanks Wanda
Marbling is really on trend right now in paper goods, and a gorgeous classic pattern. It would make a beautiful baby quilt or tote. Love that one! And the jewel tone corduroys are gorgeous...make me think of illuminated manuscript. Are those from England?
Oh, I do like that Teddy Bear panel! I still have a Teddy our girls gave me for Christmas one year. He's very handy when you need a hug and there's no one around!
I don't have that panel, but I have 3 or 4 others waiting for my attention. I am never inspired by them except somehow when I'm shopping I think I can do something cute with them. Why don't I learn?
I like the corduroy prints! They would make great quilt backs and be nice and warm. I like a heavier weight when I sleep.
