Which way is up and other things............

I need to decide which way is up on this colorwash because I want the last seams to be vertical.  I did change about 12 pieces since I showed this yesterday and then I changed one more piece after I took the photos.

This is it rotated one turn to the left.

This is one more turn to the left.  I want to have the blue at the top so these are the only 2 positions to consider.

I have 2 small boxes of squares I need to sort and then fill in on the trays.  That will take me at least 3 hours, maybe longer.

I put my black, gray and white batiks into an order that would work for Trip Around the World.  If I decide to do that I will cut up more of the fabric in some other shape too as long as I will have the creases pressed out of all of the fabrics.  I usually cut for 2 quilts at a time from any fabric group I choose.  I sold a Trip Around the World quilt top and gave a finished TAW to my cousin so I have permission to make another one.

  2. The more pleasing view to me is with the blue to the top left. Very lovely. Thanks for the pictures.

  4. I concur with the "votes" for blue on top right corner. Lovely!

  5. I also love the second one. Sorting squares is time consuming. Do you sort by value or just color? I have been sorting by value and putting them in the trays that way. The black and whites look exciting together.

  7. I too like second rotation with the red on the left. It was an instant choice after viewing the 3 together. Hope you have a good day.

  8. If you are asking for opinions, I like the blue in the upper left. Why do you want your last two seams to be vertical?

  9. I like the red over to the left. The red at the bottom make the piece look heavy to me. It is beautiful no matter which way it is turned!

  10. I, too, like the blue on the left top; it is the "order of nature", like a sunset. But the blue on the right is unexpected and exciting. Tough choice. I would like to know more about the vertical seam preference?

  11. The center one or the turn to the left looks the best to me! I love your color wash quilts.

  12. Blue on the right corner is much more pleasing to the eye. The other way is way too heavy looking.

  16. I like the blue in the top right corner - but whichever way you decide will be "Wandaful" - LOL - ;))

  17. I, too, prefer the order of nature, with the green at the bottom as in the 2nd photo, the first turn to the left. The green at the top feels chaotic to me. Either way, great additions. So glad you did that.

  18. I was actually going to suggest you give it a quarter turn to the left when I saw yesterday's post, but then today's came up before I could. :D
