Playing with friends and sewing machines...............

My two friends came over yesterday and I worked on the sunflower blocks for the Farm Girl Vintage quilt.  I had 2 done earlier and the tall stem done.  I made one more stem and leaves and 2 blooms yesterday.  They are slow and tedious.
I made a final decision on the fabrics for the last three of the large X blocks.  See this post for the blocks that are done.

I always marvel at your fabric selection- so much interesting stuff! Slow and tedious is a paper pieced quilt called Sea Urchin by Judy Niemeyer that I started two years ago. Everytime I start to sew it, I last about 1 1/2 hours until I get so agitated and ready to scream. I hate to dump it as it is a lot of fabric and I do like the pattern, but it makes me crazy and I lose the joy in sewing!

I can see all those small pieces on each runner of your sunflowers and can see why they are slow and tedious. But my, oh my are they ever pretty ! I love the Farm Girl Vintage piece and know how well they will look all together. I always marvel at your fabric collection and see what you gather for your blocks.

Those sunflowers are great, Wanda! I worked on a Thimbleberries project several year a ago that had similar flowers...tedious work, to be sure, but so worth the work! Thanks for so generously sharing all your projects with us!!
We went to bed last night with the Cubs ahead, and awoke to learn that they won!! I know all of Chicago-land is celebrating!! Congratulations to them for a job well down, and a win, so long overdue!!
Here in Virginia, we have been amazed at all the "108" connections....if you haven't done so, google "what is the significance of the number 108 to the Chicago Cubs"....very interesting! And we even heard that a high school student many years ago predicted a win in 2016 in his high school yearbook...
We have been having summer-like weather for the last few days, but. I think we are headed for more seasonable days ahead....
