Final layout..................

This is definitely the final layout.  I have only two seams left to sew.  I decided to move 2 blocks yesterday and in the end I had moved 15 to not get the same fabric next to itself.  I had one extra block and I exchanged that extra with one that was almost all green in the layout yesterday.  I'm much happier with it now.
I mowed the grass yesterday afternoon so I checked out my zinnias.

The Coleus that I planted in the ground didn't get as big as the ones in the pots this year.

I would like to give one more colorwash class at my house later this month (Sandwich IL).  I can do it as a one day class if I restrict your size to no larger than 36" square or it can be 2 days and you can make a larger one.  I have several batik squares kits cut to sell to prospective students or if there is no one interested in a class, I will sell them on my Wandaful blog.  If you are interested in a class email me here or here.  The reason I give 2 choices for email is that a few people have trouble with one of them. If neither of them work for you there is an email link on my right sidebar and a different link in my profile.  If all else fails leave me a comment with your email in it (AT and DOT instead of the symbols).

Me too! I wish I was closer, but would take a while to get there from South Carolina! The Bento Box quilt top is beautiful! It's nice to reach the point where you are satisfied with the block placement, isn't it? I don't think it's something a non-quilter would understand, how we keep moving the blocks around.

Moving blocks kind of reminds me of those little puzzles I had when I was a kid. They were square and had little tiles that had to slide one at a time and you had to make a picture or certain pattern. If you moved one to get a result, a lot of other ones had to be moved, one at a time, and often it made the pattern worse, but you had to keep going to get the puzzle straightened out. Love those squares.

I saw it first as a tiny little icon in my reader. It was very striking and I could see the strong diagonal plaid effect of the darks. Love it!

The hardest thing about making a scrappy quilt is finding just the right layout. You did! Congratulations on you (almost) finish.

Oh WOW Wanda ~ I didn't think it could look any better than yesterday ! Just lovely photo's of your zinnias and coleus. I still have not bought my red and green rectangles. But soon, because I need to get my color wash kits made up ! Our visit is still a happy memory for me. I am so honored to be one of your friends. Your talent always leaves me with excitement to create.

Your zinnia flower is pretty & they always remind me of summer!! The coleus is a nice color, and looks healthy. It will be big next year. The Bento Box outdid my expectations!!

I like that layout SO much, Wanda! It is just beautiful.

My zinnias have almost all gone. I have two very leggy plants holding on, but they're the last. Yours all still look very good.

Love the sparkle effect in this quilt. It will soon be time for sewing seed here, I intend to buy a packet of Zinnia seed.

It's beautiful! And it is a lot better than the previous layout. The contrasts in this aren't as stark, I think.
