I trimmed the 5 blocks that I finished a couple days ago and put them up on the design wall in no particular order. Now I need to decide what colors I need in the Marcia Derse triangles and Kaffe stripes for the last 3 blocks.
Here is a reminder photo of the quilt in Kathy Doughty's new book.
I'm still learning how to use the selfie stick and cell phone camera to take photos of myself working. Here I am getting ready to cut the green batiks for the colorwash kits.
A No Reply person asked how they could buy a kit. I will tell on this blog when they are all cut and ready to sell and they will be available on my Wandaful blog. I have 100 more fabrics to press and cut yet.
Love the red block in the lower left corner.
ReplyDeleteYou and your blocks are looking fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThe more I see of your blocks the more I am liking them - I can't remember if you mentioned the unfinished size of them, without the borders?
ReplyDeleteAnother nice selfie today - I have shirts like yours but in darker colours - I tend to shy away from anything white. After a couple of days of light rain we have sunshine today and a bit warmer - the Begonias and Fuchsias are loving it. Enjoy the rest of your (busy) weekend :)
It must be chilly up there Wanda, I see you wearing layers. We are supposed to have weather in the high 70's and 80's today and for a few more days. I love this weather. I love all your fabrics sitting on the table in front of you.
ReplyDeleteGreat job with the selfie stick! You're more techy that me, for sure!
ReplyDeleteYou might win me over yet to purchasing that book and doing a quilt in that style.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first image I have seen of you since I began following you a few months ago. Nice to put a face behind a blogger!
Gorgeous blocks! I am making a different quilt from that same book but now, you make me want to make this quilt as well!
ReplyDeleteI love these blocks!
ReplyDeleteThese blocks are so rich together. They take on a Vlisco look. https://www.vlisco.com/en/
ReplyDeleteBlocks are looking beautifully vibrant, and a great idea you having got a hold of a selfie stick,, moving with the times!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look fantastic! You said earlier that you didn't have enough "large prints" to use, but some of the ones you chose aren't really large prints, so it strikes me as unlikely that you won't be able to find an additional three prints to finish out the number of blocks you need. Isn't it just a total of 12? Even if it's more, with your stash, I feel like you can do anything!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing a great job with your 'selfie stick' . Your old friends enjoy seeing you on your blog.
ReplyDeleteYour X blocks have such fascinating color combinations.
