The Dahlia is almost all open now. It is still about the same size as the last time I measured it. There is another bud right next to this flower so it isn't getting any sunlight with all of the petals on top of it.
I spent most of the day cutting 2.5" batik squares yesterday, had some out of state visitors who came to the fair and for a class reunion.
I added 7 more fabrics to the Kaffe Fassett fabric catalog "page" on my right sidebar. I'm approaching the half way mark in the cataloging.
What a beautiful colour and perfect petals, over 6" across. I have some late blooming Clematis - either they are late or bloom at a different time to the others. We have some rain today so no needing to water later. Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)
ReplyDeleteThe dalia is very pretty, but for some reason I prefer the zinnias, maybe it's the mix of colors and that butterflies love them? IIRC, don't people who show dalias pinch off all but the main blossom so it gets all the plant's energy and get really big? Or am I thinking of pumpkins?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, you have some very talented quilting friends showing quilts at the fair. Do (did?) you ever exhibit quilts at the fair?
The dahlia is beautiful. I like the color too, and the paisley red fabric.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what it's like to be Kaffe Fassett.
