Not a stitch............

Yesterday was an "everything else" day.  I kept thinking I would get to the sewing machine but it didn't happen.  I checked out my zinnia bed when I went out to check the rain gauge.  We got another half inch of rain before noon.
There was a butterfly again but it wouldn't pose for me this time and flew away after a minute or so.

I have decided that this spot will be dedicated to zinnias every year from now on.

  1. I love zinnias! They bloom until it frosts if they are deadheaded. Next year, I am going to dedicate a large area to just zinnias. And more coneflowers, if I can control the japanese beetles! Hope you get to sew today.

  4. The zinnias are beautiful! I am surprised how many I have from seed that was dropped from last year. Mostly I have the pink ones even though I had planted the green ones and the candy striped ones in the past. If I get a chance to clean up that flower bed this weekend, I will post a picture of mine before the weather changes. I have noticed both butterflies and humming birds at the zinnias.

  6. I love zinnia SO MUCH. My MIL plants them every year. I am so bad about remembering to plant seeds in the spring. I have not seen a bloom on the morning glory I planted...maybe I waited too long because the volunteers from last year are blooming profusely!.

I'm going to note "Zinnia" on my March planner next year so I'll remember!! Yours are lovely.

  7. Zinnias are incredible. I can see your flower garden influences your taste in color palate.

  11. Looks like we all love zinnias, probably because of the bright colors and they stand up so straight. Lovely garden flowers.

  13. What a lovely colourful display - how many separate plants make up this display? and do you have a rough idea of the height and size, or how big is one flower head?

  14. You have inspired me to have a zinnia garden next year! Do you buy the plants or are they from seeds? If seeds, do you start them indoors or just plant the seeds outside in the Spring?
