I wanted to finish making my pink blocks yesterday....there are 38 blocks in these piles. Now I can arrange the blocks of the second half of the quilt and get them sewn together.
I have been picking the tomatoes as soon as they start turning color so I can keep ahead of the squirrels.
When I was out pulling weeds and cutting volunteer trees I had to cut down one group of sneezeweed that was in an awkward place. I cut off the flowers and brought them inside. I also cut some zinnias but didn't take a photo of them yet.
It was hot yesterday but is supposed to be even hotter by the end of the week. The humidity is supposed to rise starting tomorrow. I'm probably done with yard work until next week so that means more sewing time.
Hot summer weather... dog days will soon be upon us! We are picking tomatoes by the bucket. Some how we have 3 cherry tomato shrubs and only one tomato shrub, it was supposed to be 2 and 2, plus a roma. I am going to have to can or freeze soon!!! Zinnia are one of my fav's....
Nice pile of pinks! Can't wait to see them on the wall. Watering like crazy to keep my plants alive. I can't remember such a drought here. No red tomatoes here.
Those blocks are so pretty! The sneezeweed flowers look so much bigger in that vase than when you showed the picture of them in the garden. What are they? About 6" across? They are a lovey pop of color in that dark red vase!

ReplyDeleteWe've had to pick our tomatoes a bit early too to keep the birds from getting them. Nothing we are using is stopping them this year.
ReplyDeleteI love the pink blocks with the black and white stripe fabric they are sitting on! Patty
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty photo with the yellow flowers in the vase and the tomato sitting alongside.
ReplyDeletePretty flowers! Really nice. Unfortunately, the humidity is here very high. I have to use a digital humidity sensor...
