The top is sewn. There are a lot of pieces on the bias on the edge so I staystitched it to keep it from stretching.
A recap in case you haven't been following my progress on this quilt top: all Keiko Goke Japanese fabrics, cut with Strips 'n Curves templates sets 1 and 2.
Here are 2 small pots that sit in front of the garage door. I don't use this side of the garage for a car so the pots aren't in the way. The pink flowers were on clearance so I had to rescue them.
The art quilters are coming today. The cookies are baked, the basement is clean.
This is a winner! I like it a lot!

The top is a perfect arrangement of all those fabrics! My flower boxes and pots are growing, but we are in a drought/heat situation here and I have to water constantly. I have to get out and take some photos! Can't wait until I see what is next for your!
ReplyDeleteI tried S&C piecing years ago, but rejected it because I found the strips too "busy"..................but your use of the templates with that fabric collection is inspiring. I only own the mini set of templates, but guess I'm going to have to get them out. Maybe those Marcia Derse fabrics???? I appreciate your grouping (over there on the right) of all S&C blog entries: makes it much easier to revisit the constructions and design changes!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful top. Have fun with your art quilters' group.
ReplyDeleteThe top turned out great! There is a lot of movement! I still can't see if any of my seeds are coming up, but the canna have grown a bit.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt top is fantastic, just beautiful to look at. I could never have that vision of making a quilt like you do. You truly are an artist.

ReplyDeleteI'm loving your quilt so far. Enjoy your time with the quilters, cookies and a clean basement :) I'm not sure what the pink flowers are but in the other pot are Coleus I've only had them as indoor plants in the past.
ReplyDeleteI have loved watching this one come to life Wanda! I still think you are a master of design and color!
ReplyDeleteBest quilt ever...love it
ReplyDeleteWhat a spectacular quilt top, Wanda! I love how your blacks, grays and blues set off the fiery reds and oranges. This will be gorgeous when it's a finished quilt (it is gorgeous ALREADY!).
