After church I did paperwork, cleaned up computer files, pulled some fabrics for another quilt. While at the computer in the afternoon I noticed the sun from the west picture window shining on this cactus by the east picture window 30 feet away.
Here is the bottom left blossom from another angle. I am thankful for such fragile beauty in the middle of winter.

What a beautiful blossom. Like it is blushing in the light. Can't wait to see what you've pulled for another quilt!
We all need some downtime! I spent a lot of time on Saturday going thru all my ideas I collect. I discarded the ones that don't fit my aesthetic anymore and sorted like items together. I have discovered I do love nine patch and checkerboard designs as I had many pictures of that style quilt.
Love your blossoms. I have an orchid in bloom and in winter it is extra special.
So pretty and a breath of fresh air in the middle of winter.
I like the shadows on the vase in #1, and the delicate almost translucent petals in #2, lovely for winter blooms.
I agree, that is one beautiful bloom.
I have two big ones now in my kitchen window...three years old. In the spring, summer and fall, they live outside under a shady bench where the rain gets in...Now where do I put them now that they have finished blooming and the cold is outside..garage is cold too..Come on Christmas cactus genius...I need to know.
Indeed, such a pleasure to see the blossom in winter. My sister-in-law has such a cactus, though the blossom is red. I love your pink one. The sunshine has made it look really spring like.
Blessings,
Amelia
