I was going through the piles of leftover blocks and other scrappy blocks and found enough the same size to make a little 36" x 48" quilt top. I think I'll add a border so it is more of a couch size quilt.
I moved my cement birdbath to its winter location yesterday. I also pulled all of the tomato plants and stacked the cages. I am a little closer to having all of the outside work done.
Great leftovers. I love to cut down larger blocks -or slice and add in strips on smaller blocks- to get them all to sizes I can use for scrappy quilts. It is a great, fun way to play with the orphan blocks.
I love that it's kind of random. With some solid squares in no kind of pattern, and the little row of triangles, which I think is a one time only feature. But even with a border - unless it's a VERY wide border - it seems to me it'll still be a very small quilt. More of a baby or crib quilt than a sofa quilt or throw, I think. Or is that just because I'm tall?
What fun leftovers! This will make a very nice cozy quilt. I have not even started on my outside winter cleanup. I have lots to do.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a gloriously happy mix.

ReplyDeleteSuper layout, and lovely fabrics. We are almost into what is the start of summer, but have had 3 frosts this week.
ReplyDeleteLove the little triangles in the quilt! Great colors.
