My two sewing friends came over yesterday so there were some decisions by "committee" on this piece. This is at the point of the final layout but before the fill in side triangles.
I finished sewing the rows together at 11 p.m. last night. You can interpret it to be anything you like, a shaft of light, a waterfall, a bunch of diamonds.......
It is 37.75" x 64.5" so what can it be used for? A wallhanging? A baby quilt? Or add a couple borders and make it into a couch quilt?
I planned one more block for the other in progress quilt too.
I'll do my September recap tomorrow. I was too tired last night to gather the photos and make a collage.
Stunning result, Wanda. Reminds me of a huge Tiffany glass three piece (one in front of the other) waterfall landscape one of my art students did for her final exam in Year 12 high school (in South Australia - age level 17).
ReplyDeleteYou are truly amazing. I love reading your blog. The amount of activity you fit into a single day and night is astonishing. Knock out the ageism critics!

I think it would be a great medallion center for a bed quilt.
ReplyDeleteLove the diamonds, although I'm not sure about adding something to it to make it bigger. If anybody can figure out what else it might need, it would be you. Love the bottom block too.
ReplyDeleteMy diamonds are coming along.
As we say in our crowd, "It takes a village ..." I was confident you'd come up with something lovely.
ReplyDeleteOh Wanda you and the committee did awesome with this layout. It's one of those things that make you stop and look again as it's really amazing.
ReplyDeleteLiked Gene's idea too
Beautiful & it reminds me of a stained glass also.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking 'Waterfall'. Such a beautiful piece, really lovely.
ReplyDeleteOooh! Mountain valley scene. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOohhh. I was hoping that you would color group after you added the light blue. A fun piece.
ReplyDeleteI would say a wall hanging unless you want to make it bigger - great design a bit different than what I have seen of your pieces in recent years.
ReplyDeleteI see the jungle with a bit of sky. Very dense green and brown reminds me of jungle vegetation.

Definitely a wall hanging. I love it!
ReplyDeleteWow. That really changed from the first pictures to this last one. Incredible balance with the light in a diamond shape in the middle!! You are the artist!!
ReplyDeleteIt looked like crystals to me at first glance. I would be puzzled as what fabric would look good for a border. If anyone can come up with a solution it is you!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I love the diamonds. It says the White Mountains of Arizona to me. We have the largest stand of Ponderosa pines in the world in AZ.
ReplyDeleteThis will be an amazing wall hanging. I'm in the camp of "waterfall, mountains," whatever you end up doing, it will be wonderful. Hope you enjoyed the quilt show today!
ReplyDeleteOh here it is. Don't know why I missed it. I like your decision very much! Thanks for leading me to it.
