March recap...........

I didn't get anything quilted in March.  The small TAW quilt top was started and finished in March, the flannel quilt started in February, and the Hunter Star and the large TAW were started in January and finished in March.  I could have hurried and gotten the borders on the snowball quilt too but I wanted to take my time on it so I do it right.  This month I need to go the older quilt tops hanging on hangers and quilt something.

I did start knitting dishcloths again.  I read on Yahoo news that women who knit, crochet and quilt were calmer and had less depression and lower blood pressure.  "Touching fiber" was the way they described what we do.

This bunny was standing up for the longest time but by the time I got the camera he/she was back to eating bird seed under the feeder.

  2. I have always thought my quilting and "touching fiber" helped keep my stress levels down - I know it helped me a lot when I got sick years ago and helped me to learn to cope with chronic illness

  3. Fabric, texture and color feed a part of me that keeps me on an even keel. Especially this long winter. Love all the tops you have sewn.

  4. I read that about "touching fiber also. I quilt, crochet, weave, spin and now I am learning to knit. I am wondering about the pattern you use for your dishcloths. Do you have a pattern or do you just know how?

  6. No wonder I am so calm, not depressed, and have decent blood pressure - the fiber feely factor is to blame! Yahoo tells us what we've known all along - crafting is our sanity!

  7. Beautiful tops. Love your dishcloths. I read the same Yahoo article. I'm still enjoying your knitted dishcloth pattern. I believe Yahoo got it right on this one : )

  8. I bet you'll catch up on your quilting another month - and aren't you still ahead from all you accomplished in January? Of course, now you've managed to add another bunch of tops to the pile of "to be quilted!"
You'll never be bored, isn't that nice? And knowing you'll be calm and well adjusted is just a bonus! I certainly have experienced first hand the calming and centering effect quilting can have on me.

  9. Your unfinished projects look better than my finished ones. LOL! I have every confidence that you will push yourself and get some quilted this month.
