I spent the morning cleaning off the rails and table of my longarm. I tend to use it as a piling place. I pieced the backing for this Neapolitan quilt, got out the roll of batting and cut off a piece and loaded the layers on the frame. The machine is threaded; there is no excuse to not have it finished by tonight.
My husband says I fill any clear horizontal surface in the house and he tries keeping every horizontal one clear. The quilt looks scrumptious. I imagine it will look even better when quilted.
So glad you called this Neapolitan. That is the kind of ice cream that we got growing up so everyone could have the flavor they wanted. They don't sell it any more - now it is chocolate/vanilla/strawberry. :o(
I am loving all the current strippy projects! I don't know how you keep everything so "square" as you get all "wonky," but it is fabulous! The five look so good as a group!
I have finally gotten on line here and catching up on blogs again, looks like you have gotten a lot done. I like the one you are putting on the long arm
Horizontal surfaces and "collecting"...a frequent discussion in our house! LOL Since my conversations always tend to head towards a dessert, this quilt and the idea of Neopolitan ice cream, are quite appropriate! I was thinking of those coconut candies at Sears wayyyy back when they had the candy counter. Yummy! Love the quilt Wanda, and how great that your color palette wanders the spectrum...keeps us all very interested! And Gene's comment...LOVE IT! I always said artistic people need to "make a mess" when they create....that's my excuse. :)
I forgot about this quilt. I know you have shown it before and I remember how pretty it is. I use my big sewing table as a catch all. When I walk in the house it is the first big surface and the backpack and lunch bag get dumped there. Soon library books, DVD, shopping lists, mail, and miscellaneous stuff accumulates and then there is no room for working on a project!
I love the browns & pinks together!

ReplyDeleteI think all creative people make piles. And we consider any place flat -or even close - a good place to make a "creative pile."
ReplyDeleteThis one is wonderful...enjoy your time with it today!
ReplyDeleteOh there's always an excuse! That's a pretty quilt.

ReplyDeleteGreat name for this piece... It does make me want to run to the freezer and have a dish of ice cream. Neapolitan or not. (*._,*)
