I have all of my Kaffe Fassett fabric in matching bins and I needed one more. I emptied out the trays with the floral fabric squares that were in one of them. I figured I might as well play on a design wall while doing it. I have some tweaking to do but I always do that over a couple days after I have the initial design up on the wall.
This is therapy for me as I realise I am very drawn to the quilts you make that have light coming out of them at the viewer. Wonderful what you can get out of a bin!
Can you come help me with my color wash ? I sure wish we were closer so I could 'soak' up your talent and tutoring. That is one absolutely awesome piece...
Colourwash supreme, and what tweaking?? All I see is totally stunningly amazing, and what size are the squares? Lots of cutting there, but so good to find them all ready to play with. Cheers,Jean.
Now I know you have gone over the edge!! It is beautiful and the layout is YOU! Oh, how inspired I get every day when I read your blog. Are you sure you don't have a little elf in your basement cutting fabric in the night?
This is just beautiful! One day I would love to be able to piece a color wash quilt together! How large are those squares? They look to be rather small! Cheers!
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine that the cutting for this was very time consuming!
OMGosh!!! This is beautiful!!! Wow! I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteThe color shift is just awesome. Something as humble as a square has such power when values are used this powerfully.
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely layout.

ReplyDeleteI love your floral stash!!
ReplyDeleteThough I don't like the imagery, this is what they call "killing two birds with one stone!" Getting an empty bin and a beautiful quilt in the process!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! You've blended the fabrics beautifully. I imagine this is not easy to do.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see you doing these again. You are the master of this!
